Nine Sparks Riots is funkadelic future jazz with horns that make your ears smile.

The passion project of composer, arranger and trombonist Kristian Persson, Nine Sparks Riots brings together a stellar ensemble to explore a colourful world somewhere between jazz, funk, neo-soul and electronic music.

Persson’s compositions are packed with playful melodies, bold riffs and carefully crafted horn arrangements, blending dance-floor energy with quality musicianship. Tight arrangements meet improvisation, deep grooves meet rich harmonies, and sophisticated musicianship meets the raw energy of a live band.

Nine Sparks Riots has already made an impression on stages across Europe, drawing large and enthusiastic crowds at Jazz Baltica, Paradiso Amsterdam, Schlachthof Bremen and Hootananny Brixton, alongside numerous other venues.
At the heart of the project is a simple idea: make music that is adventurous and musically rich, but always inviting — music that rewards close listening while giving you every reason to move.
