Bobby Sparks II is a Grammy Award winning musician and producer steeped in gospel, funk, jazz and blues. He is a key architect behind Snarky Puppy’s signature sound and toured with musical giants including Prince, Marcus Miller, George Benson, Nancy Wilson and Natalie Cole among others. He was also as a core member of Roy Hargrove’s band ‘The RH Factor’.
In a monumental display of his immense musical talent, his latest album Paranoia sees Sparks orchestrate a two hour funk opera that masterfully fuses funk, rock, soul, and jazz into a singular, sprawling vision. It is an epic and celebratory sonic journey, brought to life with the help of a stellar lineup of guest musicians, that represents the culmination of his lifelong musical experience.
Known for his love for vintage keyboards – from the Hammond B-3 and Clavinet to the Mini-Moog and Prophet-5 – Sparks blends analog character with deep pocket funk and electrifying improvisation, making him one of the most versatile and in-demand keyboardists of his generation.
