Momentan liegen unsere News leider nur in englisch vor:
This summer we have lost 3 of the greatest musicians, friends and wonderful human beeings. Just Jazz office is mourning the passing of:
Earl Bostic
Earl... you always have been a rock on the bass for the Three Ladies of Blues and a wonderful group member. We will miss your balanced personality, your jokes as well as your solid bass. We are proud that we have been able to work with you and we will truly miss you together with the Three Ladies of Blues.
Bobby Durham
Bobby... We were blessed to work with you, what an honor! You will ever remain in our memories as one of the finest jazz drummers in the world. The Jazz – family, Three Ladies of Blues and entire Just Jazz will miss your drum beat, jokes, laughter, wild heart and soul! Please say hello to Ella and Oscar from us! We also want to thank the Three Ladies of Blues at this point and especially Joan Faulkner of staying with you during your most difficult time.
Hiram Bullock
Hiram... Why? It seems that it was just a second ago when we had that dinner with you, Jennifer and friends at my place and now you are gone .... Your virtuous guitar playing, your great voice, your big warm heart and spirit, wild jumps, dance moves and this incredible Tiger T- shirt will remain for ever in our hearts and will truly be missed! You've left us way too early and it shows us to enjoy every second of life NOW! YAOW!!!
Our sincere condolences go to the families and all our thoughts are with them.
With Love, respect and thanks from the entire Just Jazz office.

TAKE Six
THE STANDARD / TAKE 6 (HUCD 3142)
A cappella powerhouse Take 6 works to set a new jazz vocal touchstone with their upcoming release, THE Standard. Winner of multiple GRAMMY Awards over the past two decades, the group makes its debut on Heads Up with a recording of jazz and R&B standards, including “Straighten Up and Fly Right,” “A Tisket A Tasket,” “Someone To Watch Over Me,” “What’s Going On” and “Windmills of Your Mind.” With its roots in gospel, doo-wop, and the sophisticated jazz-influenced singing groups of mid-century America like the Hi-Los, the a cappella vocal group Take 6 – assembled in Alabama in the early 1980s – is on one hand the direct descendent of an earlier brand of American vocal music and at the same time a precursor for a number of black male pop groups of the 1990s. Take 6 member Dave Thomas says: “While we sing lyrics that always exemplify our spiritual and moral convictions, what we really are at the core is a jazz vocal group.” The group is supported by several high-profile guest artists: Aaron Neville, Al Jarreau, George Benson, Jon Hendricks, Till Brönner, Brian McKnight and many others.
